I been looking for a good quality lawn mower self propelled 18 inch blade just need a bit of advice on whats good and bad i have been looking at honda and viking are these any good

I got a mountfield one from b and q about 10 years ago still going strong

anything with a brigs and stratton engine and yer half way there

Thanks for the link i have been looking at a viking and i am told it uses briggs and stratton engine with a 5 year warranty but had never heard of them before so trying to find someone who has used this make before

Mountield one i got uses briggs and stratton engine and all its needed in ten year is oil

And petrol of course :)

Briggs and stratton are on most makes and are very reliable. The Honda would be my choice although would cost more. Smoother and quieter.

How much petrol consumption are we looking at per use (1 hr approx)

I have quite a big garden and one fill up normally does me about the season ?8 roughly

I have looked at the honda izzy i must admit they look very good the prices are not that bad either also just looked at a viking mb545vm and that very nice as well but it about a hundred pounds more but is got varible drive

i'd only get a roller model, had a mountfield years ago, was best one i had
since then had a mountfield 4 wheeler, and a cheap garden king 4 wheeler,
all self propeller
have you looked at ride on mower, somethimes you can pick up good secondhand ones

Well i got the honda Izzy in the end honda are doing up to a hundred pounds cash back on their mowers up to june 31st so it turned out to be a bargin in the end
