hi all

i might be getting a job in the next few weeks

someone has transplanted a 2006 hilux motor 1kdftv engine into an early hilux and i need to do the wiring and sort the immobilier out
the car was stolen and therefore no keys

ecu and immob all match up from same car

i do not need a full key as we are not using 2006 hilux ignition barrel
so all i need is key reader and immo box wired in under the dash and a transponder chip taped to the reader

im just wondering if i need to order some transponder chips before the job turns up

i have a t300 and an sbb and a wellem chip reader and the toyota key copier programmer(but this wont do hilux) and i have the orange toyota dongle which does 4d and i also have clone zedbull and ad600 so i can read the chips

can i buy some preprogrammed transponder chips (i think i need 4d) after reading some posts here
and then once car turns up ill remove the 93c.. chip from immob box and post the dump and hopefully someone will add keys to the dump andthen ill flash it back in

i just want to have the chips here before job turns up
so im not waiting 5 days for them to turn up

and where can i get the chips

or is there a way i can do it thru obd2 , maybe with the new x100 as i want to buy one

thanks

get correct chip and use dongle.

make sure :

- key switch is bridged. (*this is important)
-ignition is off
-insert chip into antenna and plug dongle.
- a few secs after dongle makes 3 beeps wait for sec light to stay solid.
then key is programmed to immo.

Just for my reference what exactly do you mean by this part?

Key switch is bridged. Is that door is closed
Also I have orange dongle
What I need to know is what chip to buy
I think after searching I need a 4d67. Is this correct.

Thanks

for this engine you can have immo off as well, anyway chip is 4d 67, engine ecu eeprom is r86 and immo 93c66. two options to choose from, only that as you stated that you want to tape the transponder around the reader, that would make your car same as without immo....better use immo off and avouid all other hassle to wire immo box, etc./...

Ok thanks Felix
Ill order some 4d67 chips
Then I will try using orange dongle and if that doesn't work
Then I will try immo off or get someone here to add key data to dump
Thanks

the key switch is the plug that connects onto teh ignition barrel. it is a small 2 pin plug. basically when the key is in the ignition andthe ignition is off. the vehicle still knows there is a key in there.

if you had tried adding 2nd key using machines you will notice the last step of the process is to "insert key to be programmed into ignition but do not turn ignition on". thus when key is inserted into ignition key switch is now on.

even when using dongle if the key switch is not activated the dongle will not program chip. it will just cntinue to beep.
