I got the Tuner A: (empty) nothing issue with my 2nd DM800 clone, I have read through previous threads with similar issues and still haven't managed to find a fix or an answer on drivers relating to tuners.
I have tested the tuner from the box which was giving the Empty tuner problem and it is working in another clone box perfectly fine, so I know it's not the tuner.
Is there a way to install drivers for certain tuners directly to the box to see if this will fix the issue? As it seems to be more software related than hardware.
I have tested various images and all have the same problem, currently on one of the latest patch OpenPLi images.
Any suggestions would be great,
Tuner is a: Alps BSBE2-801A

I've had this recently and like yourself it wasn't the tuner it was the motherboard.
All i can say is try several images and you might get lucky.
I had to send my box back as the new tuner didn't fix the problem.

This is what I was afraid of, should of bought my clone closer to home, going to cost a good bit to send it back to china if it is the board.
Has anyone returned anything back to mainland china if so whats the best way to go about it and who to use to send it back?

I also had the same problem when changing image to openpli, I updated the drivers via the plug in menu and it then found the tuner, just be carefull to download the correct ones ie not dm800se if you have dm800.

I sent my whole box back which was a risk as ive read they smash any electrical items that go through customs in China.
I would persevere and try other images with different bootloaders new and older versions.
See if any drivers are in the ts panel and change the power supply thats another known problem.
Guessing you have tried another tuner so take out motheboard and send that back on its own.
Are you in UK? Cost me 27 quid to send whole box back with Post Office that was cheapest option.
Only other option is to buy another box or motherboard it might work out cheaper that way in the long run.
Thats what i initally tried with the tuner.

I used the tspanen plugin.....addons.....sim2-addons......sim2-dm800-drivers and I downloaded dreambox-dvb-modules_2.6.18-7.4-dm800-20110821-sim-2-mfaraj57, I also upgraded the bootloader to 84# so not sure if that halped too.

Did you install TS Panel manually or through OpenPLi plugin manager?
I tried installing it before and it kept coming up with errors?
I think it may just be a driver issue as everything else seems to be working fine, tested with another psu and still works it just doesn't detect the tuner correctly.
Im on 84B at the minute, would it be worth trying a different bootloader?

I installed via the open plugin, but if that's not working try manually installing it with 178333, you maybe low on space as you only get about 8mb to play with after installing openpli so check your free space and remove some unwanted plugins.

These are the drivers that are already installed it seems :(
Don't know what else to try now, think ive tried everything..
Is there anyway to reset the the box so it goes back to bootloader state with no drivers or anything left behind?

if you got tspanel on your 2nd good unit then take a full backup (which will give you a nfi file with all settings/files within) and flash it to the dodgy box

Tried this suggestion last night, still no luck just doesn't seem to want to detect the tuner.
