View Full Version : Sly broadband Issues

I have phoned sky several times in a bid for them to look out and look over the phone socket that we use for our broadband.
We lost connection a lot and have told them this and this happens everyday near enough.
There say there is no fault at there end after running there usual tests and we now have a crackling phone line which i mention during the 25mins on the phone to them last night. After telling them there said if there sent a engineer out and there find no fault there will charge us ?99.99 for the call out fee alone and would only sent 1 out if I agreed to pay this, I refused simply cos i dont trust them and believe there will charge me anyway. (i cant access the test socket as there is 2 radiator pipes blocking me from removing the small cover)

Any ideas of what to do next as i cant afford to go elsewhere as am unemployed?
Was thinking of complaining - where's the best place to do this? (doubt I'll get anyway but worth a try i suppose)

Thanks

Are you still in contract with Sky?

Do you have another landline phone you can plug in to the same socket ans see if you still get that funny noise

Damage the cable before the socket (ie outside) dont make it obvious..

Result - Line test will fail and display dis in network/earth contact.

FREE callout

If you want me to test the line send me your landline number and ill check it and post results up here.. (BT engineer).
