i successfully pulled the dump from the bcm and changed the km using tachosoft for the calculator. What i was wondering if anyone knows where in the dump the vin is located for the immo part of the body module and if so how is it calculated
thanks

vengiens,
I "think" there is no vin in these bcm's, vin only in skim and pcm.

so is it skim and pcm that gives the vin mismatch code in the pcm then
and if i do a bcm swap all that has to be corrected would be milage ?

yes, skim and pcm need to have matching vin or else you get the code and no start. if installing used pcm need to write vin into the repl. pcm to match skim. or, using locksmith tool you can virgin the skim module and write pcm vin. or, you can read the 8pin eeprom in the skim and edit vin to match pcm.
If you want sample skim dump for 2002 caravan i can upload tomorrow
for bcm swap just write old dump to replacement bcm

yes, in these chrysler (up to nowadays) you only need matching vin in pcm and skim, it's that easy. No checksum, no nothing. Just edit the vin in skim or pcm and voila.

thanks for all the info i would like that sample skim dump if you can and if you dont mind could you pm me or post how the vin is put into the skim dump (location and algo)
thanks a lot, i have the snap on pass thru so pcm vin programing is no prob but i have to make sure i match the skim to the vehicle because of new e-testing laws check the vin and if it doesn't match the vehicle it fails so i cant change the pcm to match a used skim
