I recently brought a skybox f5. Install aj channel list. When I view a hd channel the sat signal drops to 5%. Comedy Central hd sky movies hd etc. Freesat hd channels are working fine just the sky ones I can't seem to get.
I don't no what the problem I've done a sat search and it seems to fail on some transponders. I know it's not my dish or connection.. Because I tried amiko alien 2 which I have in my other room and that is working fine no problems on any of my channels there just skybox f5 is having issues.
I hope somebody can help me over come this problem..
Thank you

Try a different firmware and either a pre made channel list or do a complete blind scan from scratch to see if that cures it

Thanks for the reply. I've tried masti channel list and aj's and sly channel list no joy there.
Will do a blind scan and try another firmware any ideas where I could find them. Only no about the official one.
But all help is appreciated.

I would use skybox.cc (http://www.skybox.cc/down.asp?id=9) for firmware (latest dated 25/01/13).
You said it's not the dish/connection because you have a different box in another room. I assume you had this different box on the same cable as what you have the F5 on and as an extra check you have replaced your other box (that works fine) with the F5 (ie keep on the same coax cable)?

Yea I've tried my f5 box on the same connection as my amiko alien 2 same problem some sly hd channels are showing no signal. My amiko is working fine. I've tried my amiko on all connection works fine.
So it's not the connection from the sat its all ok there. Makes me believe its the box for some reason.
I've tried to latest firmware from the skybox website but same problem. I have no ideas on what the issue is.

As a last resort have u done a blind scan?
Personally, I don't believe it would make a difference but u should try it.
I would say the F5 is faulty - maybe a faulty tuner! Can you return it and mention the tests you've done like upgraded firmware, different channel lists, a blind scan and a different box works fine using that feed.
If you know someone who has an F5 then you could swap it as an extra test.
