i got my ipad and downloaded the app
has 3 or 4 apps
one for asian cars one for usa based cars
one for europe cars
so i dont think its 5 dollars per manufacturer
just per region for the app

this device is also found for 250 dollars
so i dont know why price difference so i asked if the serial that comes with device works
ive also emailed a chinese supplier i always deal with and asked them about it
just finding more info about it at moment

if you buy cheaper than $245 let me know if you get a registered SN and password adapter for android $$68-$99 no cover so i would watch what you get for $99 for ipad thats just my opinion guys

Accident or not, I am not sure. I wanted to buy this and the supplier confirmed that key programming function is not there.

The reason for my post is just for the members here to reconfirm before purchasing.

well my launch iPad device came today but I missed the postman so ill stay home tomorrow and get it

it mainly got it so I can roll up to workshops
and diagnose cars with my iPad they will spin out hehe

hi sideshow you might have a problem think suppliers are forgetting software is not available till after 1st of april my supplier refunded me last week told me to wait as this is the 3rd time launch have held back due to bugs in the software
he told me he doesn't want to sell till softwae is released
the supplier you sent in pm only found out the same 20mins ago when i asked them to check so just a heads up so don't lose the head be patient

Duagun 3 updates online etc but no one can tell the cost after the first year that's free
I wouldn't mind one but wonder if updates can be bought another way
It actually doesn't do more then the Diagun 2 and its not 24v so I wonder if there's a real benefit etc

my daigun is only 3 months old
then i found 2 other update files and merged the vehicles folder all into one super file and had heaps of cars to choose from then i got shitty i had to go thru all icons to find car i wanted so i made another file with minimum cars i use the most
so i have 3 different micro sd cards
we dont have as much variety of carsd here in australia as other countries

if u cant update daigun keep it for 3 or 4 years then buy a new one its only 800 bucks
sell the old one for 500 bucks and your laughing
for the price of a daigun nothing else comes close compared to what it does
here in australia they have hanntech/ultrascan which i have old version off and they want 5000 for new one

they have g scan 5 thousand bucks will not do as many cars as daigun but does more things for the small amount of cars it does

carman scan sux ass and is expensive
snap on does alot but its 10 to 14 grand

so for 700 bucks for a daigun how can u go wrong

data is good wont read immobiliser or many other ecus in car just srs and engine ecu it found

im hoping m,ost of it is due to software
in the end its similasr to daigun just u get bigger screen which is what i wanted

the ipad conencts to the obd2 bluetooth adapter
thats all u need u dont need the big red case that goes around the ipad thats just a heavy duty ipad case and it holds the bluetooth adapter

luckily for me the serial and the code for the serial works
i bought 4 cars holden toyota nissan and toyota
will test more cars soon
but hopefully the software will get better and do more stuff
still better to buy a daigun

just an update lads cars not $5 per car it is $66 per car manufacture package now and it's covering cars from 1995 to present just recieve mine had it logged in ipad have no problems but i have to enter dealer code for iphone so i think this is their pad or diagun for apple products just you use your own ipad

The android adaptor seen as low as 49.99 they had a simple 327 wifi for awhile. I thought of making a key programmer but apk files are too easy to extract from phone and security is not complex yet (5 year old with debugger could keygen its like the old 74 to 75 or 75 to 74 and hope it worked).

Diagun has different serial and operating system
Can't use the iPhone adaptor I would think
Not iOS etc
Unless you can reflashing the chip
But the Chinese can't reflashing these serial yet in diagun iii

What older car model you want to do? Which specific year? For the old car, you need buy another one professional diagnostic tool,such as star diagnosis, Renault can clip.

just to let everyone know this has similar software to the daigun so whatever daigun can do this will come close to it
when i download the software the version number is similar to my daigun
they have just portaled it for an ipad
so i cant see y u just cant use the adapters similar that come with daigun anything obd2 to whatever
when i select nissan i can choose early models which means early 14 pin plug so it should work so hopefully one day i can test more cars

anyway i know this is mainly for locksmith and immob stuff
so not really on the right theme but i do alot of diagnosing and u need alot fo scanners these days to do a wide variety of cars
so scanner say they can do this but they dont so u need alot of scanners and hope by time u try 3 or 4 scanners on one car one will work
its all hit and miss
plus u also need people in high places so they can get u info u need or someone u can ask questions
it is getting harder out there and i find most auto elects round here are still in the dark ages
so im hoping in 5 to 15 years ill be way infront of all my competition over here because i actually spend money on tools

i really just bought this for w a n k factor
plus my ipad has 3g on it so i can google any problems i run into when i goto fix cars
and i can access my hard drive with 80 gig of workshop manuals and diagrams and now its a scan tool

Some says 5 dollars, key programming for some not for others, understand key programming goes through different than can. suzuki used k line until 2010+. Need to see what each can do for 5 apop. Ones that have key programming from android are worth every penny. Help people on side of road. shops can relearn lost keys. Breaks airbags. Thought of using bluetooth 327 but not all protocalls are perfect for wireless on elm 327 ok for one car flash like a quick flash type knock off. Ford would work on some, some others. But j2534-2 would be better selection. You could turn a old game boy into a key programmer, flashcart and dataoutput/input (just to do it because you could and the adaptor with switching hardware could work with other hardware.

I see the price has increase again for the full eu and asia package. Gets expensive. I brought Opel don't think I'll buy any more. Software is very buggy. You need Internet connection to use it too. As you need it to log in to open up the software. So if the site goes down you can't use your tool. Used it on a Astra g, h and corsa c. When the software is working ok it'll be a good tool.

Software costs very high and you need Internet to use it?!
Better off with a Diagun or complete hand held device.

sorry to dig up an old thread but looks like they sorted the buggy software as my ipad launch app seems to work much more stable, pity the software is so expensive, I guess its to compete with the launch pad

I got it for 5 dollars per manufacturer but now its like 399 or 499 for certain regoins like asia is 399 and usa is 499 very expensive

Hi every one, I got diagun III for 620 usd for a friend, I saw Idiag and I got it for me for 81 usd, the cost is not the connector, but the price of the app, app on AppStore is free, but I got to pay either 599usd for European and American cars except like 4 special brands and 499usd for Asian cars, except for like 5 special brands, and no Chinese brands, if you want to buy them each brand it is gonna be 66 usd for each separately. The software is pretty much the same, althoug it is kind of slower on iPhone/iPad I haven seen working diagun III but I have the older one and it is faster than Idiag.
I am glad to get it because I already have mor than this scanner to work, I take the connector with me and my iPhone as we'll to diagnose every where I am and that is cool for me, but if I had any scanner at all, I'd rather bought diagun III, it is cheaper, it comes with all adapters, it comes with almost every brand.
The plus to Idiag is that you can get the software till I assume 5 devices and I think till 10 connectors ( I'm not sure but 10 spaces are for the s/n connectors

I still think duagun 2 is better option as can jailbreak smartbox to all serial numbers works better on older cars
I had a 3 sold it cause was useless when it wasn't obd2!

im wondering if its due to the old diagun obd2 bluetooth adapter being big and has alot of smart things inside and when u choose different cars the adapter makes clicking noises
but the new dongle in the daigun3 and in my ipad app its a small unit and doesnt make any noises
i really should get off my ass and remember to try the ipad app on old nissans and toyotas to see what works
im pretty sure the ipad app and daigun3 has similar software

Three weeks ago I saw more then 70 genuine Diagun 2 all in a spare room - yes I saw I open boxes I speak to the owner all with my eyes ! Hands mouth etc

I do not recommend this tool. Lots of software bugs. Bad translation, weird symbols on display. Not possible to change language. I bought OPEL activation. Cars up to 2012, in 2012 not many models look at attached screen shots:248256248257248258248259248260

So to change the app language you need to change your phone OS language... how clever is that? Mine OS in portuguese but since the translatoon fo Idiag App for android sucks, I'll prefer english but there is no language option!

Just incase people don't know but u need to purchase the software for the vehicles
dongle is 80 bucks
app is free
software is 500 to 700 dollars US
i bought the manufacturers for five dollars each but since I upgraded firmware I lost them
and I can't download them anymore and only way is to buy 700 dollar Asian manufacturers package
so its useless to me at moment cause I can't afford 700 bucks

the hardware is absolutely the same.
so, buy the full package of modules for your 966xxxx and use PRO version of soft (there is a version on the internet using any adapter starting with 96)!!
don't use EasyDiag soft from google play it is poor - doesn't have many functions.

my daigun2 got rained on so water got in lcd screen so while I ordered a new one I had to scan a Mitsubishi triton 2009 model
after trying the proper Australian model I could not talk to air bag ecu
so I tried different country triton and found one that works

I think that problem is more a launch problem than the ipad app

I agree, do not waste your time and money for iDIAG.
I have opel and honda activation. On honda it works one on 5 times.

On iphone you have to change language to english because translation is very bad !$& marks instead non english letters.

They ask money for every update.

I do not recommend this tool.

its not to bad if u just buy the dongle because it can do obd2 for free
this will only do the engine side of things on most cars
and u can slowly build the cars up
I was lucky I bought the cars for 5 dollars each manufacturer 2 years ago when this first came out
but the software is 2 years old so for me to update now its 66 dollars for each manufacturer
and when u look at the daigun 70% of the cars there we don't have over here
also the diagun 2 and maybe even the daigun3 has connection problems too especially when u go into bcm and cluster stuff
so for under 100 dollars u can have a basic scanner for powertrain modules
and slowly build it up
or you can spend 1000 dollars on a scanner that does everything
I should really test it more as I mainly do holdens
I should try it on Toyota and Nissan and fords

yes I have 3 elm units and a plx wifi dongle which I use from the apps
but I find the apps dont like working on many cars
the apps are designed mainly for gm and ford and some jap cars
a lot of the older cars they don't work
most fo my work is on ecu reprogramming and linking on holdens
and jap stuff

I must say that this app improved in time. I have bunch of activations and all of them is working ok. It saved me with renault scenic 2015 after crash.
