thx for reply :) Today I spent some time trying to read it using connection diagram from this thread:
http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f174/ford-connect-9s12-diga-187361/
however when I'm trying to read it as fiesta 06+ I'm only getting ?????? as an old value. The other programmer I have is Wellon VP-990, but MC9S12H256VPV is not on the list of supported uC (actually none of the "H" Family is), so I didn't try it.
Any hints?

You sure about this? The only difference from what I'm doing right now is the white wire that in your description gives 12V, I always was thinking I need to connect 5V for this test point.

Can someone tell me if the 912 dongle actually works with 2008.07 version? My old one 2008.01 worked perfectly, but I got the SYNC error. Today I managed to download the content of the 9s12 using 9s12 dongle and 912 save function to the Tacho itself, but tachodump doesn't want to download anything from it... Looks like I just buy upa-usb and save me some trouble :/
Just to be shure - if Tacho would read this chip properly - does it show old mileage?

2008.7 and 2008.1 i dont think there is any difference only what chinese want people to think as for upa its gotta be prob one of the best bits of kit on the market for its price just remember at the price of clones for a little more you can buy a genuine one and speak to Captain Crackers i believe he has a solution to allow safe in circuit programming
and yes i have used my 912 on some stuff and works fine but not tried on this year connect

I'll probably do it :) Any good place to buy the UPA from (original one, preferably with some scripts already ;))?
could you confirm you getting the old mileage displayed when connecting to 9s12, please?

All the 912 dongles worked on the units I have had. I would use upa for this job though personally

cant remember if it displayed the correct mileage as was a long time ago
UPA from elrasoft ELRASOFT Products (http://www.elrasoft.com/uusp.htm)
scripts http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f155/upa-usb-sample-script-wanted-121828/

Ok I just purchased the UPA-USB from Elrasoft and got a mail it will be with me in 2-4 weeks (WTH?). So in the meantime I went to visit two friendly shops to check if I can read the 9S12 using their equipment. Tacho Universal (clone and EFIChip clone) failed to read it as Fiesta 2006 (9S12). Tried it on Fiesta 2007 with the same chip (verified) and read it without any problems displaying old mileage and everything.
