Just a quick question, getting my hands on a very cheap appletv 2, done some reading up and if I can get xbmc then there is a chance I can triple my money on fleabay. Now I am not asking how to do jailbreak it I think I have most the facts already was just wondering if anyone here has done and how they found it ie was it easy hard etc etc. I want to get this done to fund my next sat box as fancy a vu duo and kinda skint atm.

Very Easy to do
Took about an hour to JB & fully load it with XBMC Navi_x Ice films Sports devil etc.
And even less time to sell !!!

But not at the moment as Apple has stopped signing all the jailbreakable ipsw, the only one its signing is 6.1.3 which cant be jailbroken atm

The jailbreak will be back, but to do it easy you're about 10 days too late.

Only with a tethered jailbreak on 4.1.1 or something

Itunes isnt recognising ANY of the iOS ipsw with the exception of iOS 6 so none can be jailbroken at this time.

been using it for last few days, got to say it is a nice bit of kit and I am very tempted to keep it, xbmc rocks with the aid of some 3rd party plugins loving icefilms the most atm but gf loves all the catch up tv

Tethered JB not a problem at all imo, all in all nice bit of kit nice remote (though not the best I have used but feels nice in hand) and being such a small black box you do not notice it next to tv set.

8/10 just wish it could do 1080i/p oh well when the 3 gets JB (if ever) then that could be tempting, these boxes need the JB I feel they are too limited without it.

just a quick heads up if your using the built in Netflix app from apple don't be stuck with the uk version just started using unblockus you get a week free trail and from then on its 3.99 dollars a month so dam cheap this gives you access to the us version instead found it today while ill and been watching us Netflix all day and it works flawless and has sooooooo much more content, I think I shall be sticking with it unless someone knows a good free alternative...
