Hi Guys,
I have an airbag ECU out of a Mercedes Benz E-Class W212.
The ECU is Continental 5WK43871, A212 901 07 00.
It has an Atmel 25640 EEPROM inside from which I attached the original dump.
Please help me clear the crash data :)
Regards,
Tibi

Send a PM to Rafal please :) It's his work btw!
There is still no reply from the owner, so I guess the airbag ECU works great! :D The acr was still in bits when I gave it back to him ;)

Back on topic! The car just got back home from the chassis work, and it does show airbag fault. There were three pretensioner faults, and there was also a fault realted to the pyrofuse.
For testing purpose I fitted a 2,5 Ohm resistor to these, and the trouble code status changed from "present" to "intermittent". So right now there are no present codes stored. There are 22 fault codes in the memory, but all of these are old and intermittent.
BUT! I can not erase the fault codes!!! I've tried with an Autocom, a Bosch KTS but both reported, that "FAULT CODES CAN'T BE ERASED".
Can it happen that only StarDiagnostics could erase the faults, or is this a result from a faulty dump on the EEPROM?

Okay, back on topic. As said above I wasn't able to delete the DTCs from the Airbag control unit. Even the Mercedes workshop couldn't do it!!! I though that it maybe a problem with the "crash clear" dump, so I put back the original onto the EEPROM.
Then the airbag ECU went back into the car, and I was able to delete all the faults. No faults were stored, the fault texts and the airbag light disappeared from the instrument cluster. Then the car was assembled, and two days later when the owner drove away they came back!!!!!
Two fault codes were stored: Voltage supply too high, control unit internal fault.
This time it did not allow to clear the faults again!!!! Then the car went back to Mercedes, and same story, even Star Diagnosis wasn't able to delete the DTCs.
So today I removed the airbag control unit. Uploaded the original dump, put it back itn othe car, cleared the DTCs (which it allowed again), and tried virtually anything with the car - turned IGN ON and OFF several times, started the engine a couple of times, locked doors, opened hood, assembled the dash, took it for a long drive etc. Nothing triggered the airbag faults. Then I thought it is solved, and let the car like this for 2-3 hours. I then came back, switched on IGN, and Voila!, the faults are back :eeek:
The stored codes are again the same:

So as the fault texts on the dash:

So these faults came out when the car was left alone standstill, with the ignition off :hmmmm2:
And again just as before it will not allow the DTCs to be deleted.
So, to clear them I would ahve to upload the original dump to the EEPROM again, then it will allow them to be CLEARED, it will be faultless for a few hours, regardless of what I do with it, and then all of a sudden it will throw back those two faults, and I won't be able to clear the codes.
Any kind of clue about this? Surely, if this was a control unit fault, then it would come up right after the dump is put back on!? Not 3-4 hours later????? And how come there's an error, showing voltage too high, in a situation where the battery isn't charging so physically it can't be more than battery voltage!!!

Other interesting thing is, that why does it show "Aktiv Motorhaube St?rung", when there are no related fault codes stored, and the hood latches did not come up during the accident - front crash sensors were removed tho!!!

Could someone help me clear the crash data from the original dump in the first post?
Perhaps it's just one bit which is not modified in the crash off dump, and that's the one playing with me!

Hello, I also have an A2129010700 airbag module needing clear crash, but I do know what chip on the board is 95640, can you tell me where it is on myboard, thank
