If i do a factory reset do i need a RS322 cable?

no, just make sure you have a backup of anything you dont want to lose

if you do a factory reset all saved data will be removed except image,... sats,channels,line info will all be gone,a rescan of channels is ok if you want to rescan for lost/moved ones.
