Default password problem

Hi all..

I have this box which i been using for some time. I wanted to update the channel and I read through the forum on how to do it. I tried to access the box via ftp but it keep saying password/ login details wrong.

I tried the default userid and password as below:
userid: root
Password: dreambox

Think the software is written by sgdvb

Anyone know the correct password from you or how can i go about flashing the box or updating the channel?

Any help is much appreciated.

Don't think u can ftp using default id/password as it's been changed since day one.. from ur seller.
One way.. clean flash via null serial cable once u have the keys/scce files.

I cant connect via dreamup. it says on ur dreambox. on already but nothing happens.

since i do not have the password, will this hinder the flashing process.

do u happen to know wat method should i use?

If you do not have a coms port for the null modem cable, then you need to buy a usb adapter for your null cable.

USB Adapter can be bought from Sim Lim (Bizgram level 5)

Null Modem cable can be bought easily from any shops which sells computer cables

don't flash other than windows xp. I've tried windows 7 and 8 but no result. cable can be bought at sim lim tower basement shop.

Hi Bomchacha.
I have similar problem as Tinkerstar and I had already flash via web browser.
Base on your advice, does it mean that flashing using null modem will reset the dreambox username and password?

Sorry to hijack your thread TS. You managed to find the password? I tried dreambox, 0000, 9999 and many others combination but to no avail.... :(

why do you need the pin where obviously you wont get it.......
either reflash an image without pin or do your channel updating via yellow button
