i have done many cars but still dont get a good understanding about these 2 chips 93c76 and 93c76wp...
Is 93c76 16b and 93c76wp 8b??
i think they are usually mounted in:
Renault master aprox 2011
Opel Movano aprox 2011
Ford transit aprox 2011
, because i will do an Ford transit 2011 this week and want to understand how this chips works, last time i did a Renault master 2011 it ended with a total disaster, when i read it it was the original mileage but when i write it it was only Error in dash, so any answers would be great:grief:

You could look at the datasheets of the chip maker?
Did you remove the Renault eeprom from the board?

Any chip if has letter after number is not reading same as chip that does not have letter.
Ex :
I have 95160 original chip form Vag ECU and I have 95160W.Both chips has same data in it.
My programer has option for both chips, so if I select 95160 and I read 95160 it will read Ok, but If I read 95160W it will read different data.
But if I select 95160W it will read correct data.
Also when I read chip I do read at least 5-7 times and compare data to make sure the contacts are good. Sometimes when you have bad contacts programer will read every time different data. Also some chips when you read them in circuit it will read different data then when you disloder them,
I prefer to disolder chip if you 100% not sure it will read/write correct in circuit.
I hope this helps you.

Tulgeywoodman:
I have read datasheet of some wp chips but it dont say much, only like option 16 and 8, so its not much info, and yes i remove chips, always do actually
Yugo45:
I see what you saying, i now that the letters stands for something but want to know if there is a list of what, i have all different kinds of programmers that supports many chips, but did not realize it when i writed the renault master, anyways, thx for answers!
