Good advice - Samsung Galaxy Tabs are excellent - Kindle lock you in to Amazon to a great extent, similarly Apple.

You will need to go a long way to beat this one,

StealthX Tesla T3/T3S 9.7" 1.2GHz Android 4.1 Tablet IPS HD Screen 1GB DDR3 RAM :: Android Tablets :: RetailGadgets.co.uk (http://www.retailgadgets.co.uk/StealthX-Tesla-T3-9.7-Android-4.0-Tablet-IPS-HD-Screen-1GB-DDR3-RAM.html)

Bought one for my Daughter and it kicks ass, unfortunately they are so popular they are out of stock at the moment.

I bought the Google Nexus 7 with 3g, got a 3 sim card for it at ?7.50 a month rolling contract with 1gb data, for when there's no wifi. Its brill, I've installed Kingsoft Office which is free and handles all ms office files. I can print to my epson printer using epson iprint app. The App Store is enormous, there's even Black Ops Zombies out which runs great, but a bit dear. A great piece of kit.

I personally prefer the iPad as I find it more user friendly.

however, if you don't like going through the process of storing all the films on iTunes and then transferring the files through iTunes (as it can be a lengthier process), it would be best to get an android tablet. I don't know much abut those, so don't ask me. However, I know that many prefer Samsung tablets.

Also less restrictions are put in place in Android as you may already know: unless you jailbreak the iPad (which is again a lengthy process and in some cases risky and so I don't recommend this personally), apps can be downloaded only through the iTunes Store, and the apps can turn out costly. I mean think abut all the apps you accumulate over years. On the contrary, apps through android can be downloaded for free as 3rd party apps can be easily installed. Also as a result of less restrictions, there is a wider range of apps availible as 3rd party apps can be installed.

Hope this explanation helps.

Btw the kindle is only for reading; no apps or anything. So kindles are for the interest in e-books.
