hello

i got my dish installed pointing to astra 19.e by some engineers. i have connected the line to my tv which has a satellite tuner built in. i picked up about 81 channels after doing a scan, alot of them are duplicates for example i have so many e4, e4+ and other channels are basic like itv, itv4 bbc1 etc. i was hoping this satellite tuner would pick up alot more channels with less duplicates, atleast all the fta that you get being with sky, can anybody explain why i have hardly got any of those mentioned by freesat company or sky fta?

thanks

Maybe that most "freesat" dishes are pointing at 28.8e?

What make of LCD/LED/Plasma do you have and is it Freesat Branded as some of the newer ones i noticed lately from manufacurers like Toshiba will not pay for the Freesat Branding thus it lacks the ability to lock onto the Freesat EPG and channel order, So basically when you do a scan instead of returning the normal say around 150 channels in order and relevant for your postcode the TV picks up everything available on 28.2? east

And if you did have it aligned for 19.2? east get them back and re-align for 28.2? east

thanks for the reply guys, it is ok now, after about 5 hours of playing around i figured out that i needed to change the satellite in the menu to 28.2e then scan to get all the fta channels, so my dish was aligned to 28.2e after all, i thought it was 19.2e because that was showing in the satellite menu as default.
