OK so the W212 W204 have the Engine light on after changing the mileage with most tools because the mileage is higher inside the DPF than elsewhere.

How are you guys solving this problem?
Is everyone using Mercedes Star to regenerate and solving the problem? Has it failed for anyone?
If it hasn't working for anyone, how did you solve and was your car EU or US?

Thanks

You first got to select the correct ecu when dpf counter reset, theres a nice little tool out there that does these nice (M8 2012.3 even 2013.1), even though it says failed when doing them. You have 3.0 car? As on them i think it says forced regen, on 2.1/2.2 it has dpf reset.

Speaking to Banny, he said he used C3 to take of the light no problem.... does it not support CAN when UDS isn't there?

Uds is on the new twelve plate cars , c3 will still support some of them plus all the sprinters with DelphiDelphi

I thought C3 does not support it bcause of missing uds chip.

C3 dosnt support uds hence the introduction of the c4 , but the sprinters are now on Delphi ecus as well as the cars , however the sprinters are not in uds so the c3 will still work, banny probably has a few c3 left to sell hence he can do the 12- with his machine

LOL!

Has anyone had the light come back after some miles?
Have you checked the mileage in DPF is now lower than originally?

1.
Banny was probably refering to the facility to turn off engine check light using star dev. [this still doesnt sort the problem out does it]

2. I have a c3 and have yet to come across one I cant do ! 2013 included, all size engines.

3. Yes, kms value in dpf changes after tinkering with star

LOL, whats all this star business about? Someone asked what tool reset dpf values on 212 / 204, anyone tried resetting dpf values on 204 2012 using autocom?
I suggested autocom which is peanuts and does 204s, instead of spending ?850 on c4

If you do enough mercs in the correct way, then 850 IS peanuts

Quite true TULGEYWOODMAN, but if i was doing mileage on these which i wouldnt as i dont do mileage, I still wouldnt be spending 850 on a tool yet just for dpf count that a autocom can do on 2012s, as it goes if i need star its there. And autocom was just a suggestion as a cheap alternative that does the job on most cars that need reset either it be merc or mazda. And is a good all round scanner for the average mileage person that doesnt think he is diagnostic tech/auto spark "Don one". I fully understand where your coming from though and hope you suggest on post that buying c4 for mileage lads that c4 is the way forward for them if they want to do it the correct way.
