help needed with obd cable pin out

i have purchased a obd 2 to honda 3 pin converter cable but cant connect to ecu

i have checked out cable with meter and power and ground are ok but k line wire seems to be problem
on converter cable k line wire goes to can low j-2284 pin 14 0n obd 16 pin
question is
should k line go to iso9141-2 k line pin 7 on obd 2 plug
or is converter cable wired ok

all assistance needed

the tool im using a an AUTOP obd scanner bought from ebay
car is honda crv 1998 does not have 16 pin obd socket but has a 3 pin data link connector that is wired ( power. ground. and k line .)
that is why i bougt a 16 pin to 3 pin converter cable
