Hello,

Has any body done a 2012 model mini cooper s, '62 plate'

What should I expect CAS or FEM unit?

If it is the big mini i did one a couple of weeks ago cas3 but even harder than normal mini to strip big job think that was 12 or 62 plate

Its cas3+ you can do cas obd if you have good programer.

Not all versions are covered obd

Ironically I had yet another 12 plate mini in Saturday , cas4 , as enigma would not communicate and dp3 says probably cas4!

Dp3 said probably cas 4 on mine but when i stripped was cas 3 + think it is standard message on dp3 on unknown software version

R60 is CAS3+. It's definitely not a CAS4 100%. I did 3 of them already. It's a lot of work.

I also have a 2012 mini to do. What's the Best procedure dash and cas3+ plus any tips on stripping and cas location ???

Dash is m35080 same algo as e90 etc cas is in similar place as all mini behind speedo under dash cover strip out is big job all plastics from centre console glove box etc just keep going and you will get there charge big money half a day job.
