Use VCDS to read the fault codes.

Golf Mk6 should have 7-digits fault codes in SRS, for example:
9437211 - Trigger for driver airbag / B1000 1B [136] - Resistance too high

well dont have a vw original scanner only snap on launch auto inginuaty etc and they all give the same code
