Hi everyone - I hope someone can help!
I have purchased a skybox f5 and am looking to connect it to two additional TVs around the house. I also have sky+ connected to all TVs around the house.
I would like to get skybox AND sky+ to all TVs in the house. Currently have sky+ connected to 4 way 4 dB UHF distribution amplifier and cables connected to magic eyes on the two additional TVs. Will connect new coax cable from Sky LNB to skybox f5 and stumped from here.
Was thinking of the following options:
1.) using a triax tri link kit to connect f5 - could I hook sky+ into this also and have both boxes available on different channels on all TVs?
2.) connecting f5 to an rf modulator then connecting this to a 2 way distribution amplifier. The skybox f5 OUT cables from the amplifier can then be connected to the OUT cables from the sky+ 4 way distribution amplifier via 2 way combiner/splitter to get signals from both f5 and sky+ through one cable to each of the TVs.
Hope this makes sense and that someone can help me! My head is busted with it all.

seems like an awful lot of work when a video sender setup could do the job...may be more coslty though...many newer ones allow multiple input sources
something like this DigiSender.net (http://www.digisender.net/product.php?prod=DG258-2RX)
shop about and there are others that do a similar job for less money

You can do ti both ways you mentioned one will let you still control with magic eye on both receivers and the other will just let you use the eye for the official receiver and view the F5

Hi guys - thanks for the advice. Might look into the video senders depending on their price. Trying to utilise the set up I currently have for my sky+ that's why I was considering the splitters and triax tri link.
Can I put both the f5 and sky+ through the triax tri link and view both boxes on the same television on two different television channels (i.e tv channel 6 for sky+ and tv channel 7 for f5)? Would I not need to have 1 box switched off for the other to be viewed?
Cheers again

F5 through RF modulator on say RF40 into $ly+ box on RF36 and then from $ly+ into distribution amp and sent around the house and tune TV's into 2 separate RF channels

Thanks digicon! When you say rf modulator do you mean a triax tri link?
If your method is through triax tri link - would f5 connect to rf modulator via scart and sky+ would connect via coax cable from rf outlet 2? the output lead would then be split 3 ways via splitter and use coax cables to the different TVs around my house?
I havnt got the triax tri link yet so not sure how RF40 and RF36 would be set - is it through the dials on the front of the link?
With this method can both boxes be changed with magic eyes?
Sorry if these are dumb questions - it's all so new to me!

you can use the triax tri-link but a cheaper option would be a normal RF modulator cost around ?18 would suffice and the RF channels i quoted are just rough you would alter these to suit your digital freeview reception in your area.
F5 - Scart - RF Modulator - Coax fly lead - $ly Box RF1 in - $ly RF2 out - distribution amp.

Thanks again for quick reply!
A normal (and cheaper) rf modulator sounds much better!
So the coax lead from the rf modulator goes directly into the sky+ rf1 connection?
Will both boxes work if both are switched on - i.e watch sky+ upstairs and skybox f5 downstairs? Can I change channels on both boxes via magic eye?

No because you would need the Tri-Link for magic eye access on the F5 as i described you can have either box on any TV but Magic Eye access to the original $ly receiver

Ah ok!
Sorry, one more question...it's slowly sinking in!!
if:
F5 - Scart - Tri-link - Coax fly lead - $ly Box RF1 in - $ly RF2 out - distribution amp.
then both boxes can be viewed on all televisions at any given time and I could change channels on both boxes with magic eye?

Brilliant! You've been a massive help!! Cheers!
Just placed an order for a tri-link.
Last question....honest!! What type of plug/connection is best to connect coax to LNB and is there a particular cable that you would recommend to connect LNB to f5?
Cheers again

The best connection is Compression as they are water proof for outside use to around 2 bar, but you need a compression tool to fit them Cable wise the best is something like WF100/TX100 again pricey.
Personally if its just for a standard 28.2? east install RG6 and Screw on 'F' type connectors will be just fine

Hopefully receiving my tri-link tomorrow.
Just to clarify, when using the tri-link as set up in the pdf in a previous post (but not using scart loop through), can one person upstairs watch sky+ and at the same time can the other tv's watch F5? Or would all tv's have to watch the same box?

They can watch either so all 5 TV's will have the choice of the F5 or the $ly receiver

Hi
Tri-link arrived today and hopefully I'll get a chance to hook it up tomorrow.
Was thinking, do I need the triax digital amp that is suggested in the triax documentation or can I use my existing amp:
PROCEPTION PROMHD14R MAST HEAD AMP UHF WITH IR RETURN:Amazon:Electronics (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/9792443193/ref=mw_dp_mpd?pd=1)
Cheers again for any help!
