What is best to use? My xprog doesn't have HC05 access so am forced to use CarProg clone. Have not had much success reading this chip, is there a better tool
I can buy? prefer not to spend lots of money. Need to fix Daewoo lanos srs ecu x2. Any tips? one has crash data, other has internal error

Also does someone have connection diagram for the HC05B16 in my Carprog manual it doesn't have a picture of this maskset apparently Daewoo Lanos 96 220 437 is 0D60J. Thanks

UPA-USB can do it without a problem...

Hi I bought UPA USB. I need to read LANOS SRS chip 0D60J QQBC9939
Can someone say how I need to connect UPA in order to read this chip and what adapter. I thought it was a MC68HC05B16. Do I use the MC68HC05B adapter or the 705B16 adapter? Which way do I put the chip in marking facing up or down? On rear side of PCB there is white circle is this supposed to align with the dot on the IC? If so then the IC marking is facing down.
I have UPA USB connected to Config. Key then gray connection cable to IC frame. Do I also need to change J links?

Just about an hour ago I've read for the first time 68HC05B6 .This is how I did it :
1.Soldered a few wires ,see in UPA pdf help which one where
2.Tested connections ,IRQ and TCAP1 were bad so they need to be lifted ,be very carefull at this operation
3.Read
Pretty simple :congrats:

But which cable did you use? And connected straight to UPA or through adapter?

Mine UPA is this one :
New Arrival 2013 Super UPA USB Programmer with 27 Adapters Free Testing ECU IC | eBay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/271183531617?item=271183531617&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr)
It has an 68hc05b adapter which should be put over the MCU , job done .
But in my case the adapter does not fit well over the MCU , because the MCU pins are placed too low to the PCB ,so instead of the adaptor I used a 9 pin cable soldered to various pins on MCU .
The cable is a 2X5 pin ( which you can see in ebay listing ) it is inserted on main device (the PCB with ZIF ) and this one conected by DB9 with UPA

So just to clarify, the adapters are designed to be fitted on top of the IC with the IC in circuit?

Yes , mine are just for in circuit use ,they are just simply PLCC and wires .
For reading out of the circuit some resistors and an Xtal should be added to the adapter .

Tried in circuit just now, had to cut IRQ on other side of board and then it worked perfect using adapter upside-down MC68HC05B

Yep ,cutting traces is an option to pin lifting ,also thinking of a little cut on pin using a mini drill or something .
Thanks for reporting .

Just to add, I also shorted the adapter by running it over some sandpaper on a flat surface. This is like the AK90 BMW key tool adapter
