Ford Addative Module

Hello Guys

This is a play project really, however I might be able to get a new module to read for the purpose of repair corrupt units.

I have had a couple of these go corrupt, has any one ever read the MC908AZ32ACFU Mask 2L18M ?

I have tried various security bits with UPA but only ever get AD :(

Any suggestions welcome

Did auto baud rate Success displayed...... Reading Success displayed..... AD is read ...... if I'm right means secured ?

Are security bits for these parts decided by the part manufacture or car maker ?

Is there a way to work this out, I never took much notice of the ident etc in the car with IDS, does this give any clues maybe ?

any input welcome :)

hi, so you have a good security sequence for your az32 to make the read successful?

@darwins hi, i can say only something may be a bit useful to your playing project.

-yes, a long string of AD in the read is meant failure to pass the SS but not neccessary to be AD, some chip had something else but noticable by long string of repeated data.

-don't know where the SS was set whether part manufacturer or car maker only know that we can change it with a proper tool if need such as beeprog (of cause after we save the vauable data) but we can't do it without knowing the existing SS first.

-'Is there a way to work this out?' you mean finding the SS? ETL908 programmer works very well on this.

Thanks antwnhszr & cubica1 I have all the SEC BITS you send but none of these will let me in..

medcapot I have Xprog but again this will only work with correct SEC BITS..

Thanks for your input Zmann I have genuine ETL908 but this mask 2L52H is not listed, I usually use ETL in cases where the mask is listed then go for chip removal, I have not tried this yet purely because of this.

Maybe I should remove the part and try as 1L52A.

I have this chip on a Genuine ETL908 programmer & board, reading as a 1L52H to try and ident SS.

Screen says...

MC68HC08AZ32A (1L52H) OBP SS: Auto selected
Linking device...
Device Secured
Read sequence in progress....
EEPROM selected.

The center green led is flashing away which means Programmer busy.

Anyone have an idea how long this can run ?

i use omega for 908 processors it scans the chbip and works out the security bits

Thanks for reply.

What is the longest period taken to do this ?

Fortunately there is one 2L18M in my test chip box, I do a retest and photo for your project input.

This's a brand new chip and it took 4 mins to decode SS.

You may be interested in the errata sheet attached. My prog is clone and had not yet any problem with SS reading but I did replace LP2981 with the quality IC from digitkey.

Thanks for repair sheet Zmann, I have a COM programmer not LTP.

I did some modifications as instructed by Alex (ETL) just after receiving the tool and it has worked fine since then..

The problem here was a 64 pin to pin board is required not the ETL MC68HC908AZ60 board..... :)

Hi there

I've tested with your bits but reading still is AD. Do you have other bits?
Is there any of the participants in this thread get another set of bits for me to test

Thank's in advance M8's
