Hi,

Help needed please. This is my last resort before my box goes in the bin.

I will try to give as much information as possible in the hope that someone may be able to help but basically I am getting the dreaded Error 01: No CA FOUND. I have managed to save two like this before but no joy this time.

I have a Dreambox 800HD Sim 210 and it was playing up saying nothing connected when looking at the tuner config so decided to change image to see if that would help. At the time I was using sim201e_ssl76c_DreamEliteBH_DM800_133D.nfi image so I changed boot loader to SSL 84 A and flashed image OoZooN-Image-dm800-3.2.2.nfi this must have been the incorrect loader for the image as I now have the dreaded error.

I have searched what seems like all of the web and used everything that is recommended, the patched dream up programs, numerous versions of opti flasher and also the NCF repair tool but nothing has worked. I have also connected via hyper terminal which initially recognised the box.

What is strange is when I was first trying to repair the box using opti flasher and NCF it would detect my box but then give the error wrong boot response message, any ideas why it was saying this? I have seen online that this could be an error with the sim so I have also removed the sim cleaned it and replaced it but that didn***8217;t help.

Now when I am trying the programs they are not recognising the box at all and also when I try to connect via hyper terminal it does not recognised the box just displays a few random characters, any ideas how to rectify this?

I have ordered a new null modem cable (link below in case that is not the correct pin set up) just in case that is the issue but as it was recognising my box initially I doubt that is the problem?

RS232 Serial Null Modem Cable Updates Dreambox Technomate Humax Eurovox EchoStar | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/230859579680?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649)

Is the boot information stored on the sim and if so can you order a new one and will that fix the issue?

If there is anything I have left out let me know but any suggestions on how to get the box communicating again will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

m8 the no ca error is when you flash the wrong image, you have to reflash the box with the correct image for your box.most images come with the bootloader installed in the image you dont have to flash the bootloader seperate,if you had of used the search button you would have found lots of no ca error threads

Sorry I think you may have misunderstood what I am saying I am no longer trying to flash the boot loader; in doing that I caused the no CA error.

I know there are loads of NO CA threads as I have said in my initial post I have searched them all and tried all of the solutions that they offer but nothing is working. Do you have any idea why the box is not communicating with any of the programs? Or if there is any way that I can get it to start to communicate again?

are you using a null modem cable with a patched version
of the dreamup loader panel? also is the null cable being used from
a 9 pin com port on a computer or are also using a usb to serial cable
to connect the computer to the box?

so with both Ethernet and null modem cables connected
and the com port set, what happens when you click connect
on the dreamup and go and plug the power lead back in, does
the panel upload from the dreambox and go into http mode

When I am in dreamup and press connect and the plug the power cable in nothing happens at all.

The program does not change at all, this is the issue I am having there is no communication with the box at all, even with hyper terminal it does not get any response just random characters.

It was doing when I was first trying to fix it but now nothing at all. Its almost as if the box needs something to start it talking back again.

I think it might be possible that you have erased the flash chip and if so it is a jtag job or replace the motherboard. I had this with a 500 the other month, I looked at jtag and it looked like a pain and not worth the hassle so I replaced the board, but probably not worth it for the 800hd as it will be close to the cost of a new box.

if a dm800 main board has bit the dust
it would cost more to replace than it's
worth, is there a mate or anyone near you
who could try and see if it could be got working again
iv'e sorted a couple out for users near me after they
were having problems

Thanks for the replys. Its even stranger now I ordered a new null modem cable tried with the repair tools the box was responding but was giving the same error wrong boot response. It has now stopped responding again so will leave for a day and hope the memory clears itself again.

Has any one any ideas why it gives the wrong boot response and if there is any way to get around this?

If your trying a null modem cable use it on a desktop pc with windows xp and not a laptop that might make a massive difference, Andy.
