Starview 4

Hi Gents.
Great site, Been on here a short while whilst deciding what box to get :s: so I bought a Starview4 Super Box usb. downloaded the latest 1.07 upgrade etc into the box & followed the instructions to the tee,

I can get the normal NTL channels etc but nowt else:hmmmm2:..
Where have I gone wrong ???

I have been reading this site for a few hours trying to get my head around it, I can normally manage things like this but the box nearly went out the window with the wife:hahaha:

Any help greatly appreciated

Do a fec reset on box m8 then set default then set keycode to on then autoscan ,should be ok then if you are in the uk.

Im in south wales 2 miles away from NTL HQ :laugh:

iam in south dublin and have digivox and the box super4 and on ntl as iam writing this , all the channels are gone so how do i get code to put the channel back

Try scanning on a different provider like telewest instead of ntl, We're in an ntl area but scanning on ntl didn't work for whatever reason but when we scanned on tw it worked. Worth a try m8. :)

I just set up on of these with no probs, what else were you expecting?
do you mean you are only getting fta channels?

Have you definately got v1.07 f/w properly installed?

Press menu, system setup, system info and check s/w version, should say 1.07.

Can you access the cas menu?

Yes I downloaded it earlier from the above DL Link (look at my download record and I think they were all done today:s:)

Checked the system set up and it does say 1.07

You should be able to view the $ channels. Have you set your keycode to on as camelv said? Go to menu and key in 1570 this will bring up the secret menu where you can set the keycode to on.
You tried that mate? If you have done all this then try turning the box off and then flicking the main power switch off at the back for a few seconds and then back on again and see if you can view them then.

Yes done all the above, the only thing I havent done is switch off on the back of the box, I will give it a try..

Yes I think it might be best as I'm not getting anywhere fast,

Can I delete the old v1-07 software from the Box ? or when I install again will it be overwritten ??

Just had another go, downloaded all the new updates from the above links, switched the power off on the box, popped in the memory stick, re-started the box,
(1) pressed memory entered usb option, Starview 4 logo file appeared & The Box Super USB V1.07.

clicked on Starview 4 logo file and nothing happened,:hmmmm: clicked on v1.07 and a small window opened clicked on that and it downloaded..??? is that ok so far ??

back into menu keyed in 1570 brought up new menu keycode and switched on.

Back into menu scanned for channels, I did 4 different scans, ended up with NTL. picked up loads of channels, tried it out again all the FTA are there but still getting blocked off with the $ on the majority.

Have I bought a duffer ???

Got it working:jiggin:

switched it off on the back, waited a few seconds back on, off straight away and back on with the same flick, all of a sudden downloading channels appeared and its up & running..

To all the gentlemen that gave me advice & help one hell of a BIG THANK YOU... you lot are genuine stars:cool:
