Hi
I have one car with one strangle problem:
BMW 120D 163cv EDC16C35
In DDE error 46D1 control unit internal error 4, do not identify VIN
In CAS do not have dtcs, indentify VIN ok.
Car start perfectly, but ecu in recovery, car do not have power.
Anyone know what could be the problem?
The only thing I see strange is that diagnosis can not identify VIN, but read flash + eeprom, and VIN is present in both dumps.
Thank you in avance for any help.

Updating the ECU will not help. I have provided him with a good set of files which should cure his problem

Are you sure that will fix EEPROM checksum too? Because I don't think it will.... we tried update with Autologic and it did not help.

i had same error in different EDC16C35 on BMW's - for an E87 118D i am still searching a good BDM readout to fix it. i think that is the best way and works for sure,... take from same car a full bdm file - Change ISN number in EEPROM - calculate checksum - do synchro between cas and ECU - Programm injector coding - clear faults - and everything would be fine ;-) - biggest Problem is to find bdm files :-(

Just a sidemark
- Probably UIF damaged - thats not part of flash or eeprom - thats why diagnosis cant identify VIN. Reflash with WinKFP will solve it because thats open a new UIF
