I have seen it pre-code and program a 2012 VW Tiguan at Hickley's show,

The coverage is a bit patchy unless it has the right type of dash, I had a clone before but I bought the original because it is great for VW Beetles when other tools struggle and it has Opel engine pin code read and Fiat dashboard key programming too.

At 390 Euros it is not that expensive for an original supported tool.

The Tiguan at Hickleys show was 2010 not 2012. Your right 390euro,s isnt expensive for an original tool, but i purchased one from opelinfo.com Original website, and it was dead on arrival. Contacted opelinfo.com from where i purxchased unit, who basically gave me a load of abuse. I had to open paypal dispute in the end and luckily paypal decided in my favour. There customer service in my opinion is rubbish. When you buy original tool, you buy for support and hopefully updates and these VAGTACHO guys have a bad attitude in my opinion towards customer service and support.

The coverage listed for VAG looks ok, but ive heard as already mentioned its a bit hit and miss wether it works or not. I cant comment as my interface was dead on arrival.

The coverage for opel ecu,s is really bad if you look at supported ecu,s all of them went out of production in around 2004.

If you look at the Fiat coverage, in uk ive never heard of any immo being in cluster, Atex31 i see your in southhampton have you m8??

Im just glad i got my refund, and have nothing to do with VAGTACHO again.

I agree with obdmaster, i made a sales inquiery, and i got abused!!, the guy is an arshole, you have been warned. i know someone who has original, and he told me that the opel pin does not work, if you check the info on his web site, you will notice, that info has not been changed for about 2 years.except adding the chip reader to the usb obd reader.

My mistake OBD,

I was suffering from hypothermia at the time (only wearing a T shirt and it was freezing) so I wasn't paying a lot of attention to the age of the Tiguan.

Also, the Fiat dash apps I will probably never use and other tools would be coming out 1st anyway ;)

I have Vagtacho 5.0 and it CANNOT connect to passat 3c 2009 dashboard (NEC, VDO new UDS protocol) as it advertises!

True at this moment is that for passat best tool is tango not avdi!

Mate if you working with Vag vehicles everyday I would suggest you buy a genuine Abritus AVDI as it can do all vag keys and even make dealer keys when all keys are lost. I use mine on VW Polo 6R a lot and never lets me down. Stay away from vagtacho unless you just want to waste your time.

Just to update.

My genuine Vag Tacho from Hickleys has done about 8 Beetle keys without a hitch so far, but they are the only cars that I really use it for.
Not had much joy with the Opel side though.
