I am also looking for these, I have the china ones but trying to get my head round how they work, if someone could help me that would be great. The bosch ones for example have 5 pins per row, so 10 pins total. However on all the diagrams you need 12 pins?

no you use two rows of 5 on the bosch other 2x2 dont need,
any more Eu Suppliers could do with asap, a nice set for my BDM

I just showed siemens beacuse bosch and delphi are so much easier. by brother has no idea about anything and actually did them ! ahahah.
Just solder pinsa nd alignem as best as you can...and then use any bdm adapter or similar to get them aligned. i also recommend soldering or glueing the additonal adapter on the srpings for better resitance.

Thanks for the video! But I still don't understand how the chinese ones work with the gap?

pulsar2000
23rd July, 2013, 09:10 PM
lewich you have two rows of 5,
you go in Bdm to the right leaving other two rows untouched the extreme left not touched,
look at your fgtech diagrams,

lewich
23rd July, 2013, 10:14 PM
Thanks, I understand what you mean. Do you need to unsolder any pins? Or all 10 used? FGTech states that pin 2,3 and 5 arent used?

Thanks for the video! But I still don't understand how the chinese ones work with the gap?

see what you mean now, the china 2x5 rows works ok, i also tested new BDM adapter with Gap same ECU EDC16, Both work ok, so how come ? the 5x2 row works ok ?? technically shouldnt as only porst & 12v correct, 3.3V & VF1 not covered by pins,
anyone knew why ?? head on bdm china wired same to look at apart from theres no gap, 211351

lewich
28th July, 2013, 09:23 PM
So you tried the China adapter with 5x2 rows, with it on far right leaving 4 pins unconnected at left and worked okay?

pulsar2000
28th July, 2013, 09:45 PM
yea both types work ok, 3.3v & vf1 not touched on ecu pads as every row to right used with the 5x2 china as no gap.
bit confused at this as cant see how it works but read with BDM100 both sets of probes same result, i can only assume don't need all connections for read / write ie 10 pins total...
hope someone can clear this up so i understand why / how
edc16c34 i think i tried

ominimicu
28th July, 2013, 10:25 PM
It does not all pins are used. That is why both work

lewich
30th July, 2013, 11:22 PM
So do you need to solder all pins to the board?

pulsar2000
30th July, 2013, 11:32 PM
Lol me 2 :joyous:
im assuming Bosch edc, variants maybe some need all some less, but in my thoughts the chinese 5x2 only the 2 at the right are correct, then the left are all wrong as theirs a gap and 2 are touching, so offsets everything ?? Go figure

any person working with adapters carsung bdm, we could discuss how they work, if they are 100% functional thanks.

i testd china adapters and work perfectly....so who cares? you can use a multimeter and tst those pins that lead nowhere...and eliminate them

Ominimicu, I just noticed the second video you uploaded, that has made it very clear for me thanks. Only question I have was do you need the power supply in between the two ribbon cables? Where can I buy this?

ominimicu
1st August, 2013, 10:37 AM
You need the power supply on BOSCH ONLY ! you need that middle adapter if you have CMD, dimsport or alientech bench. For EVC bench no need.
THe thinghy came with my FGtech when i bought it!

lewich
1st August, 2013, 10:45 AM
I have FGTech so can I power the FGtech with power supply and plug ribbon cable directly from BDM board to FGTech? Or do I need that middle board?

ominimicu
1st August, 2013, 01:40 PM
you need the middle board!

any person working with adapters carsung bdm, we could discuss how they work, if they are 100% functional thanks.

They only work with genuine BDM100 by EVC which has a totally different pinout to CMD Clones.
