Help regarding 2j74y

Hi all , this may sound like a stupid question but can I use the flash from a 4J74Y mcu and write to a 2J74Y? I am using on Mercedes vito eis. I don't have any 4J mcu only 2J

i dont think security bytes same, system will not accept but if you put more detail perhaps someone with more experience can help

agree with ricard's advice. don't know eis but if security bytes were not part in check sum no need to care about only to know them when read/write. only some progarmmer can program the flash that maybe in locked state but can be unlocked. and only some programmer that can change security bytes if need.

the only problem if exist that impossible to be solved is death locked on eeprom. if use etl908 read the whole dumps then i can tell. easiest way i would try is copying only eeprom and see.

Yes you can use flash from 4j74y to put in 2j74y i do that before with succes but the mcu must be from same model ezs, a mean there is a rom in mcu that you can not erase or reprogram. For that reason you must use old mcu from mercedes ezs. I do that with Omega programmer, if you have r270 or ETL you can do it. Other programmers can not disable security bits.

ETL908 will program flash and eeprom from 4j74y to 2j74y with no problem .(No need to worry about ROM )

I am trying now to write it . i am able to write eeprom but i am unable to write the flash
4J74Y to 2J74Y
Eeprom OK
Flash : Programming error

Any clue ?

Choose erase/write , heat up MCU when programming

If u use ETL can be done for sure 100%
MCU must be 2J74Y or 4J74Y (its same) only difrents is security bytes who is not important for working
That difrents is security for unlocking
And can be used any MCU with that mask not only from mercedes

Flash-1 and Flash-2 are not protected, the problem is somewhere else.

I think my processor is not dead... somehow the eeprom gets corrupter...
