Hi I used to use a dreambox for cable and was quite comfortable putting the image on the box and updating the software. Its been a while since i have used this site but i would like to look into using a dreambox (sat version) again maybe one that allows me to record. It would be a great help if anyone could give me a guide to what i will need and were to look just a bit rusty at all this.

I think i am going to need a motorized sat dish

also wondering if the software and image you use is similar using the sat boxes as it was the old cable boxes.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanking you kind people in advance :joyous:

You can get hold of dreambox Clones the 800se seems very popular and cost is around ?130 shipped form china, You should also have a look at the receivers available from Vu, Technomate, Gigablue, Xtrend etc.. as they are all relatively the same to setup via FTP/Telnet its only the DM receivers that require being flashed via network all the others are done via USB stick

Would you say the Vu Duo+ is as good as DM8000?
