Recording on vu+solo

Hi guys
I am looking into buying a VU box to replace my F3 and also my dm500 running pli jade3 and have a few questions
1. Can I record on this box like my old sly box i.e. record one channel and watch another(fixed dish 28.) or do I need a duo for this
2. Is there any issues with what HDD is installed, F3 box needs spacifc HDD and pen drives to work properly
3. Is there anything specific I need to look out for when buying one apart from not buying a clone:joyous:

Basicly i need a box to replace my old sly box to keep the Mrs and the kids happy with a recording facility like sly's. So its the solo or duo

You will need a Dual tuner to record one watch another channel so yes the Duo would fit the bill and has no problems with hard drives as long as it is original and not a clone

or vu solo2b has twin tuner and internal hdd.original.
