Well i never seen edc17 clone for now. If there is tricore proc inside then i think only way if old one is damadged to bga change processor. From old one to new - used one

You can clone some EDC17 Using X17.
But I don't think this is one of the few that can be cloned.

Hi Guys
Tried FG Tech today using the boot pin out below which I found in another post on DK.
Boot worked ok but FG Tech Clone would not unlock the processor. Tried TPROT V08 tool but still no go.
I can also confirm communication with Opcom / Tech 2 on the bench using the pin out shown.
I see this processor can be worked on with DataMan (http://www.dataman.com/dil48-lqfp176-zif-tricore-1.html)if removed, not sure if this will deal with all protected parts.

Thanks fruti, can't these Tricore ecu's be virgin reset for programming ?
At least this processor will be easy to remove and resolder back, but I'm thinking if there is a bad ecu or none available there will be nothing to resolder..

It was explaned here and some other posts... Area where is immo is one time programmable "OTP" that why you cant clone ... I was thinking to buy empty processor and write all data from old one to new. But there is a catch ... I send an email to elnec about buying socket for that proc. and bga also. But the answer was that there is not enough cosumers witch will be using this and to many work for develop program for writing and reading those processors. But i never try if you buy empty proc and program it back wia bdm.... This i will try if i get empty tricore :-)
