Hi guys,

I've been remapping my own and friends Opel/Vauxhall 1.9 CDTI EDC16 for nearly a year using an MPPS clone and BDM clone, but now a colleauge has a 2011 Insignia 2.0 CDTI and asked if I can remap that. Obviously MPPS won't work here as it is EDC17, and I think that due to Tricore encrytion my BDM tool won't do it either.

So the time has come to invest in new tools. Obviously for the very low number of cars I do, a genuine tool is out of the question. So which would you recommend to do the EDC17 Opel Insignia?
I'm considering the following possibilities:
- Galletto v52
- Kess v2
- KTAG

From the supported car list. the Kessv2 looks the best but it is expensive and I've read elsewhere that it locks after a mere 30 usages/ Is this true?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Excellent, thanks for that. Is it worth paying extra for a v53/54? I'm also potentially interested in remapping 1.3 cdti (Marelli) and 1.7 cdti (denso) when I get time to learn these ECUs but from the car lists that I've seen it doesn't look like v52 supports these but the v54 does.

think the marelli V48 covers ok, as for Denso - V53 should do you fine,

Is v53 different hardware, or can a v52 be upgraded to v53 somehow?
