Hi guys, I'm really in trouble here. I got my Skybox f5 working a while ago and was watching astra channel with ease. however 2 weeks ago all the channels were scrambled! I checked my internet connection, it was fine as i could view youtube on it. i tried everything, reading all the posts here and i was baffled with all the technical jargons. could anyone walk me through the settings part? LNB, frequncies etc... i was thinking whether i can watch both astra and eu channels...

Thanks in advance guys!

Let me take a quick guess your F5 came with a gift if this is the case your gift has expired and you need to find a new gift, discussion of which is against forum rules.

Mate, most likely your setting is fine, it is your provide you need to contact.

Thanks for the reply guys.

If u guys are referring to sealion, no it is not free from my provider, in fact it is paid as a 1 year thing. I checked from cccam.cfg it's still online tho, so it can't be that problem.

I even downloaded AJ's Channel List, which the channels showed up from a "single satelite search" but there are "no signal". I'm wondering if it's my dish direction problem.

As for Astra Channel List i added the satelite from 28.2E and did a "single Satelite search", however only 73 Channels Showed up compared to the 180+ usual.

Help would be much appreciated.

A blind scan on 28.2e should (I think) scan in over 600 channels.

Are your FTA channels working?

Is your LNB Freq set to Universal (9750-10600) in the Antenna setup menu?

FTA? Would you mind explaining on that? I'm not really familiar with that...

LNB is set up.

FTA = free to air. E.g BBC/ITV/Anything not marked with $ symbol. Just because your network menu says active doesn't mean anything apart from you are connected to a server, what that server is doing (or not doing) is anyone's guess. I'd be contacting whoever flogged you that part of the setup.

UnD1n3...just to clarify things. In your first post you mention watching Astra & EU channels. Can you confirm that your dish is actually pointing to 28.2e, or is it set to 19.2e perhaps?

Were you watching $ly channels before you started having problems?

As mentioned in my previous post, you should be getting over 600 channels on a blind (or accurate) scan. I think this needs to be sorted out before contacting your provider.

Even doing a FTA scan only, I get 348 TV channels.

Thank you all again for your quick responses.

I did a bit of looking, it turns out that I mistook Astra channel as a disguise of my local channel provider Astro. So sorry about that, the 2 are completely different things. In this case, I was able to watch Astro channels (Malaysia) before, but never tested on Astra & EU channels. Now most of these channels are scrambled and occasionally some of them could be watched for few minutes before getting scrambled again. How do I know where my dish is pointing to? I have no idea about this.

I did a factory reset after upgrading AJ's Channels via USB too. I have 593 channels list, but all of them stated "no signal". Are all these problems due to my sat dish pointing in wrong direction?

Ps. Blind scan 28.2E only detected 160 channels the last time i tried it.

Sorry I assumed you were in the u.k, how are you actually moving your dish about to get eu channels? If you were getting your local channels before and now unable to then it is more then likely that you would have to align your dish back to your local satellite.

UnD1n3. Can you give us more details. I take it you are in Asia, as the Astro channels appear to be on the Measat satellites @ 91.5e.

Measat 3 at 91.5?E - LyngSat (http://www.lyngsat.com/Measat-3.html)

In that case you cannot receive channels on 28.2e, even if you had a steerable dish.

Yes my current location is in Malaysia. I have not moved my dish any time, so I guess it should be pointing to the direction where my local (Astro) channels were pointing before. I just did a blind scan at 91.5E, 173 channels were found but all were scrambled too. I wonder is it the problem of sealion of my provider.

In another question, does it mean that I need to point my dish towards 28.2E to be able to receive the channels?

If all your $ channels have suddenly gone off, it does sound like you need to contact your gift supplier.

You cannot receive channels from 28.2e satellites from your part of the world I'm affraid.
