Newbies from SG - Read here first

I am creating this thread for all newbies to know the basics first before the start posting on the forum.
I notice some newbies are all over the place and some have no clue what they are doing and what to expect.
Its ok, we all are once newbie and we learn along the way.

I am updating the O!newbie Guide. The latest improvised version is nothing new from the previous. I just rename it to inewbie and some minor changes.

Stay tune. I will upload it tomorrow after I am sure we are safe by tonight Hahaha

So I think this version will not be spared haha.

I am newbie here. Would like to know can I do something to my DM 500C in order to watch HD channel? Learn that only HD channel can watch EPL.
Next, if I want to add channels, is it that I just need to find the latest image and perform a flash again? Do i need to select flash erase?

only wanted to update channels but put plug in on from link as instructed then when i ran plug in box will not start up just goes to green screen and tries again , i have a cloned box maybe its only for original box could of said ? any help to fix please

you shld try using dreamup 1.3.3.1, if still cannot.. try look for a computer with a coms port. USB converter gives u problems

Currently I have a dm500c dreambox and I cannot watch channels like HBO and HBO family on SH. Some of the channels are scrambled. it is like watching a scratched CD on a CD player. Anyone knows what is wrong?

Hello. Im in need of great help. My dreambox died today. It just keeps on bootlooping. I know the setup pin but I can't get the ftp password. I'm able to get into ftp but I don't know what's the password for the login. I need help. I didn't have a crossover and null cable. Is there a way to get the ftp password ? Im not able to download tux commander. I don't want to buy a cable yet. Do you have any ideas what are some of the ftp passwords?(except dreambox) I have dm500c , Singapore. The software is rather old, pli jade 1(not open pli) My case is EXACTLY the same as the 2nd problem here: Thread: http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums....php?p=2113060 My setup pin was 0755 too. I can't use ftp. I'm also unable to download he plugin. what i need is the ftp password asap because my family needs to watch the tv and i need to reflash an image asap without buying a cable.

Require the keys for my DM500c - recently had to flash it via RS232 after 2 years and it dying (unfortunately I didn't keep any backups of the keys or SCCE). Would any kind soul help PM to me?

I just bought a dreambox. I'm on FYHD and read up here to get more info and realised dreambox is really the box to go for.

However, I bought myself a DM800SEv2. Is this newer box NOT supported? I don't see any image that I can use. They are all SSL84 compared to my SSL88 and I dare not flash any image yet.

Hi Now it is Ok already. But I still have a problem with itAfter I clik connected, the program conneted to my dream. After I clik at write image/restore backup and next I clik at Get my image. That is here my problem because dont apeer any image to choose. Who my cause this?Can you help me please?Thx
