Am i right to assume that the st10f296m processor contains the immo data? If so can i swap this to another ecu? How to desolder?

cheers

Is it possible to desolder and remove this chip to another board?

if dont have eeprom , may be other side of pcb. you need to read the st with your tool in boot mod and write to other ecu.ore desolder the mcu .

no this ECU has emulated EEPROM in ST296F - no physical EEPROM - also not on bottom side of EEPROM

Old ecu s not communicating and i bought another used ecu to swap immo over too. i have never read from this type of chip before. Or should i just virginise it? If so any ideas?

To read/write and to virginise are the same job, done by a programmer. If not be able to do so, swapping the MCU seems to be the last chance.

Hi
Nobody know?
Hello to all!! Moky have you managed to solve this? Ecu has eeprom or no? What you have done?
I have to work on the same ECU and I don't know if there is eeprom....
What you have done finally?
Thanks in advance!

You have to read it and make it virgin, and you can mount it without any worries.

If you have the original one and it has the same codes as the one you found, read the old ECU and write the data on the used one.

First of all thanks for the reply!!
This ecu has the eeprom internal in mcu or it has separate eeprom? The only think that I must read is full mcu??

It has internal emulated eeprom

Thanks again my friend!!
I read mcu with piasini and st10 297 family 832kb file and all is OK!
