View Full Version : Bmw E38 2001 milage

Hello wich programm can i use to change the milage from a e38 dashboard? partnumber of it: 62.11-6 906 992 its a VDO 110.008.784/270. Do i have to open it and read out with a clip? I have only the dash, car is crashed

Ok, thank you but i dont have enigma equipment, only with eeprom reader doesn?t works?

The diagram is telling you which chip is on the other side of the board. It also tells you where to connect to the chip from the rear of the board to save strip down. The numbers refer to chip pins. You can read from the rear following these numbers with any programmer that you trust to read in circuit or to be sure strip the board down and find chip on rear. Strip down is easy but only once you've done a few, look on here for tutorial and in brief be very careful with dial springs.

ok, now i understand ;) but my cheap eeprom reader doesn?t read a m35080 :/

Well there is no way you can do this without a tool that will. Programmers from China that will read & even clear M35080 are only few $

which programmer from china i have to buy? i looked in tachosoft milage calculator, there is listet the odometer value on the 93c56 eeprom??

You said M35080? Have you opened dash yet or compared it with the 2 PDFs to actually know what chip you have? 2001 probably will be M35080 though. First 2 lines are mileage. Once you have programmer just post on here and someone will change for you if your really still stuck. Just go on any Chinese site and take your pick, I don't know your budget or future need for a programmer but google Carprog for a cheap all round usable tool that will erase the M35080-3 that will be on your car.

Now i know why i dont have to touch the needles :D i?ve destroy the coolant stepper motor but no problem, it?s a test cluster for me. My eeprom programmer suxx really, he dont read out a m35080 -.-
