CAS by OBD with TU
When programming using the Audi A6 old Sharan 2000 connector (cable 25 )
Insert the key into the ignition lock to lock
Connect the Tacho Universal with the Sharan plug and the diagnostic port
in the Tacho Universal BMW E65 >5er/7er/X5> CAS Choose
The Tacho Universal shows wrong value.
Remove key from ignition and program to zero ( 0 )
Wait until "DONE" or "FERTIG" is displayed.
Now you must install the speedometer.

ALL DONE!

Hi, my personal opinion is ... to strip down cas In BMW need less than 5 min ... to open and connect to x-prog another 10 min ... read eeprom + flash (to be secured if anything go wrong) corect km to 0km 2min, to put all back 5min total 22min but you will sleep well. I'm telling you this because I try this with my TU and I fuxxxx CAS ... because I was to lazy to strip down the CAS. But every time you fail, you learn something new :)

pipina: if you can remove the cas from a 7 series in less than 5 minutes you are a better man than I'll ever be.

Why do all that when TU can do cas in 2-4 minutes. Do NOT underestimate the power of TU

Better safe than sorry maybe ??? How many have you had gone wrong??? Sometimes when something easy goes wrong it is a very good wake up about the actual technicalities and the cost of the things we touch every day. But I'm guessing some people agree and think what you wrote "Do underestimate the power of TU" and NOT what you were thinking. Hey ho worked once and will always work.

Personally. for the amount of 7 series BMW's I see I'd rather take the CAS out and charge accordingly. The Diga Clone has been and still is a great bit of kit for some old cars but I would not take the risk of trusting it on a job that's going to cost me ?500 plus if it goes wonky.
