To be honest on the official skybox website the only difference is the LCD display the F5 was green and the F5S is now Blue. can't see any other difference

Personally, I would stick with F5 only because it's been around a little while now so problems ironed out whereas the F5S is new so it may have problems.

Yes my f5 is working just fine. I read that the s type has a sharp tuner. Supposedly better than the previous f5. . Anyway I like my f5 its cheap and cheerful

If you read the post carefully you will see that it has been edited so what you are referring to has been removed because it breached the forum rules.

I think the new remotes for the F3S / F5S are a step backwards, a lot of the of the buttons are white in colour with like
a blue insert / writing which is very very hard in see, and even more so in low light..........someone should have seen that these
are most likely going to used with in a low lite room...ie: your front room in the evening with low lighting levels.
EDIT: There are lot of issues on the F3 / F5 that needed to be addressed before the remote, like the Wifi connection and the EPG
...sort them you have might have a great box, rather then a cheap box!!

The remote controls, although different in looks do exactly the same and either the new or the old will work on both boxes. They are both cheap to buy on ebay so if anyone has a preference it will cost less than a fiver ror the one of your choice and the one you dont like will do for a spare.
One thing I will say is that both remotes are quite well built and rarely go faulty. Other than those chewed by dogs, I have revived a couple by just boiling the psb in water and drying in fan oven.

Agreed, but the markings on the buttons of the new remote still leave a lot to be decided ................and trying to remove the batteries is
another story as well!
