I have a openbox S11 which as been working fine, but now it reboots when the the box as been on about 10 mins. If you leave it on one channel it is fine but if you try and change channel or go into the menu it just goes into a reboot loop. tried various firmware but all same. Hope someone can help as it's doing my head in.

I have the cover off my s10 and a fan on the processor.
Anonymousx firmware from aug 2012 killed my genuine receiver,so I avoid those.

I agree with the slugworth it is a heat problem, don't quote me on this but I believe the S11 were immune from the clone killer time bomb if it was a time bomb then it would have bricked the box.

At a guess could it be channel list? If this always happens whilst changing channels after 10mins but keeping on same channel everything is fine then resetting back to defaults (ensure you have backed-up settings like channel list, gift, etc) and rescan the channels yourself and see if, after 10mins, it reboots

there were firmwares that would have those symptoms with hd channels.
I would test it with true fta channels and see if it does the same thing.

I had similar probs in regards to random restarts with my F5. I narrowed it down to it starting after a firmware upgrade and channel upgrade. So I reflashed firmware after first resetting everything back to defaults and now I also ensure I remove all existing channels before a channel update. Been ok since I reset back to defaults everything. This is why I wonder if it was a channel issue as I mentioned earlier.

Have you recently updated firmware and/or channel list by any chance before you noticed the restarts.

However, my restarts were random mostly whilst channel hoping but occasionally when watching the one channel for ages.

Thanks for all the advice, just a update, the box finally died a death but is now fine. Once it died i removed the lid and found a screw floating about in the box. This was making contact with the electrics causing 3 caps to blow, these have been replaced and all working fine.:joyous:
