Hey whats up. I wanted to see if this dash was using a new micro eeprom which i would have used microclips or if it was regular sized eeprom. We know the GS's and LS's are using Micro's and many people are soldering onto the back of the boards instead of directly onto the legs. However, when I took the dash apart I wasnt sure and if anyone here had worked on one does the needles need to come off and top disassembled to get to the back of the board where the eeprom lays. I couldnt for the life of me see a way that i could reach the back of the board, even with removing the needles. Check out the below pics, anyone who has worked on 13 lexus/toyota do maybe you can provide a PDF or some pics of how you dissasembled the dash.
Thanks
Dr Deelll

Take away the front white cover. Then take the needle off.
Then take out the black panel
Then you see allot of screws take them out.
Then you will find the micro eprom.

Is it possible that members can use the correct terminology, instead of "micro eeprom"?

I had a feeling there was going to be a s#!tL0@d of screws to take apart. Man what a pain in the neck, time to break out the micro clips for this one, or solder a wire to each legs. Does anyone know about the algo, i cant seem to find the post that I was reading previously on here regarding either leaving or changing the last byte, cant remember although I did remember that it will go up 1 km and then back down to what you changed it to. If someone could either let me know what the algo is or link me to that original post would really appreciate it. And to all who have responded so far thanks in advance, very heplful. You basically confirmed what I thought before I did all of that for no reason.

Thanks
Dr. Dee

I did one of these a few months ago. it was a new GS250 but dash looks exactly the same and it was a soic 8 eeprom.

So no one knows what im talking about regarding the algo going up 1-2 km's and then back down to what you set it to?

It's in this thread. It was my problem and caused me no end of trouble as the car was 100 miles away but this thread helped me see it and it was so simple thanks to HCip. If you get stuck post the dump. http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums/f174/lexus-not-counting-336451/index2.html

Car type: Lexus RX350 - 93c66 - 2009-2010 years
The mileage is stored in the next lines:
0060: xx xx FF FF EF xx FF FF EF xx FF FF EF xx xx xx
where the next bytes:
FF FF EF - is a mileage

For a 2013 Lexus ES350, Instead line 0060, the mileage is located in 0010
calculation is made in KM .
