the hardest one is still inaccessible by obd (2002-04, lots of broken steppers), all later that can go obd are actually very easy to do by eeprom direct, either e2p is on the back side, either needles are easy to remove without risking "dead needle"

This device (MAZDAMETER (http://autokey.com.ua/MAZDAMETER/HTML/MAZDAMETER.html)) can work with such generation (Mazda 6 2001-2007) by OBDII.
Previously thought to be impossible. :)

dash in video is from facelift model (2005-07) which also has eeprom on the back, no need to remove needles. no way to do pre facelift model obd, and needles are very risky to remove

I'm sorry, but you're wrong. Dash in that video is 2001-2007 model and need to remove needles (But that was until the Mazdameter with last software release).
I've done a few of these panels, 2002 year and 2004 year by OBDII with no problem. :)

That dash later generation and no need to remove needles. Also done by OBDII.
