Finally after four years, the latest version of the seminal PSX emulator ePSXe has been released!
This version features even higher compatibility and some game improvements too. Still testing this myself, but so far I've noticed that proper dualshock analogue control is now working properly, and looping/stuttering audio in Metal Gear Solid with the default audio plugin doesn't seem to be an issue anymore.
