Hello!

Could somebody tune this file from 1998 BMW E36 316i to 318i or even more? It is for a good friend of mine.

What makes you think that you can extract more horsepower from a 1600cc engine than a 1800cc engine?

Both of them are 1900cc engines ... the only difference is ECU. I have also ECU from 318i. Can somebody transfer just immo data maybe?

Would have been nice if you told upfront that the 316i is a E36 compact.
The 318i you mention has to be a E46 as it has to be a M43 also.
The other 1900cc engine is the 318i is a M44 engine with totally different ecu.

What are the ecu types from these 2 cars?

Yes you are correct.

Both ECUs have same part numbers:

Bosch 0 261 204 420
DME1 430 940

Here is the dump from 318i ECU: https://www.dropbox.com/s/z9qq7xlcjhx3cja/318i_29f200_ori.zip

It would be nice if someone could take immo data from 316i ECU (from post #1) and put them to 318i ECU. Thanks!

Both files are for a 316i (WBACS11080FR87064 and WBAAL11090JN38929). I think you will have immo issues doing this as the e36 has ews2 and the e46 has ews3.

If that is not possible, could somebody increase RPM limiter to 7200 rpm?

Hi m8,

You are from Spain, I'm from Romania, for us is not a problem to read the guide without translator, pictures are easy to understand also for a person from Slovenia, without translator.
Basic rules are:
Low MAP (low engine load) = more spark advance
High MAP (high engine load) = less spark advance
Low CLT (cold engine) = more spark advance
High CLT (warm engine) = less spark advance
Low RPM = less spark advance
High RPM = more spark advance

More fuel (richer) more adv
leaner less adv
