W220 2002 dash 24C04 Bosch power up

Got a W220 dash only here, powered on desk to check, on km location I only see ------, it that because dash is not connected to the car? Need to know for sure because customer will test the dash after corrected by me. EZS has already the same value, dash is from scrapyard, old one is fried. Thank you all.

yes you get ------ because dash is not connect to car.
but if its new type and you put dash in car you still wil have ------
you have to mary the dash to the ezs so it will display the mileage.

Doesnt it show kms for a few seconds when powered up on bench?

cant you swap eeprom from old dash to new one?
