NFS Media setup howto
---------------------

Its not possible to configure a NFS mount in dgs application as DGS do not support NFS,
but in background this is handled so do not worry about choosing CIFS setup in mount manager.

the line in your /var/mount_manager_fstab should look similar to this.

cifs /mnt/nfs 10.1.12.100 /var/nfsmediashare dexter dexter NLBshare Disconnected

IMPORTANT: current release has one requirement "rule".. part of NFS sharelocation needs to include nfsmediashare ,
so your share can be /media/nfsmediashare or /movies/nfsmediashare or similar.... just remember to include that name in share.

after you configured this, you also need to enable in webif, and choose IP9000 -> Change NFS/HDD media.
you can edit the file and reboot box or you can configure in dgs application, but do not press "connect",
it will not work like this.

After you enabled it in webif, and configured the line in your mount manager, you can reboot and at next
boot you got /media mounted from your NFS server.

For this wondering why CIFS is not supported, its because CIFS do not support directio and also speed of CIFS
is worse than NFS.

The webif is your control center of the NLB mod image.
Default login is: root and password: relook
If you need to update access table for ip addresses allowed to access webif, please
edit the /var/etc/httpd.conf
You find a line here ie.

Save file, and reboot box, and you got access to the webif.

- System information
* Processes - List current applications running on IPBox
* Change SWAP HDD - Activate Swap or disable it.
* CPU Info - get IPBox cpu info details
* System Boot information - output of "dmesg" startup of box.
can be used even if your box shows "PANIC".

- System options
* restart samba - restart windows sharing service.
* Samba status - Activate or stop samba/windows sharing services
* Change HDD filesystem - Choose between ext2/ext3 or existing.
ext2 filesystem will run FSCK (filesystem checks)
ext3 filesystem skips FSCK
* telnet status - Activate or stop telnet service
* ssh status - Activate or stop ssh service
* ftp status - Activate or stop ftp service
* Restart box - Reboot your box

- Firmware options
* Upgrade FW - Upgrade firmware from img file in /var or /media folder.
transfer .img file to /var or /media folder and select this option
to upgrade firmware.

* Multiboot - Read below for details

- USB options

* SWAP - activate or disable swap on USB key

* Format USB - format a usb pendrive/stick for use with box
- and for multiboot setup
* NOTE: USB Stick will be mounted on IP900 as HDD if above 2GB
And this means it cannot be formatted in webif on ip900.

* Mount USB - mount a USB stick on box, to access files on it
location: /mnt/usb/usb0
* Copy /var - make backup of /var to your usb stick
* backup db.dat to usb - copy your db.dat file to your usb stick
* restore db.dat from usb - restore db.dat (will be named db.dat.edited)
requires reboot to take effect.
* List contents of usb - list contents of usb stick, if mounted.

- IPBox options
* HDD/NFS media folder change - NOT ENABLED AS OF THIS WRITING!
* Change Fan - enable/disable fan in Ipbox.
* Show time in led - activate Time in VFD display.

USB MULTIBOOT

- Multiboot feature gives you the option to boot off a usb pendrive/stick, so you can
more easily place as many files you wish into the root file system, with the only
limit of the usb filesystem size.
- It also uses the USB pen for /var storage, so each image will have its own setup.
- Removing the usb pen, will cause box to boot flash image.
- USB pen should be formatted in webif, before use
- other USB pen cannot be used/formatted in webif, when you are running multiboot.

Instructions for usb multiboot
------------------------------
- Format a usb pen in webif (USB Options - Format USB)
(old formatted usb sticks from 8022 and down needs reformatting)

if used in DGS box during mp3 playback or photo album, it will not work.
- Wait for an OK from formatting (takes 30-60 seconds depending on size)
- Placing firmware on usb pen procedure
- * For /media folder
- with ftp copy an .img file to the /media folder
- Only DGS / SifTeam / NLB images will work.
- * For /mnt/usb/usb0 folder
- mount usb pen in webif (USB options - Mount USB)
- select Firmware Options - Multiboot
- in field "Enter name ...." write a suitable name for image
- in "Choose file to put on usb" select image to put on usb
- in front of img file you can see location of file.
- Press "extract" to extract image to usb.
NOTE: IF NO USB PEN IS INSERTED YOU DO NOT HAVE OPTION TO INSTALL IMAGES!
OR FORMATTED CORRECTLY, ie. Windows formatted pen will NOT work.
- when finished (takes 2-3 minutes), reselect "Firmware Options - Multiboot"
- In bottom "Select USB bootimage to use" you can now see your image.
? if it is not shown and extract failed, make sure your usb was
formatted with a unix fs, ie. using format usb in webif.
- You can choose to "Change" and mark which image to load at next boot
or
- You can choose to "Delete" firmwareimage from usb.
- Selecting "Flash boot" will make box boot your flash / disable usb boot.
- Reboot box to start usb firmware.

Sorry for not keeping up, but the version before NLB 8421 v1.110 didn't solve the epg problem for me (I didn't install v1.2), but it is very fast on channel change and no freezing a good image does this latest one resolve it?

P.S. Guys will DK have a IPBOX /Cuberevo downloads section available I keep checking the posts for new downloads but I think it would be better to have a dedicated section for us HD geeks pleeeeasee.

If your using Incubuscam enable Timeshift, seems like they reversed the problem from other images where you have to disable it. But nice image and stable and fast. Thanks to Dexter.

1. Our Video player is related with CODEC, FPS(frame per second) and resolution.
As you know, even if the Filename Extension is different each other,
if the video codec is same each other, the two files work like same.
If the video file's resolution is more than 720 X 576, it will works very well.
So, we recommend below conditions.
1) resolution : 720 X 576.
2) FPS : 24, 25 and 30 fps.
3) Following video and audio codec.
Video Codec : XVID(Without GMC and Qpel), OpenDivx(less than Divx5.2), MPEG1, MPEG2, H.264
Audio Codec : MP2, MP3, AC3
When file's codec is Xvid, If you remove the GMC and Qpel, it works well.
If the file's video codec is MPEG series, it doesn't support the adjusting sync function on video player.

2. ext3 file system is slower than ext2 normally.
If you record two HD channels with ext3 at the same time, it may fail in record.

we have checked the speed as below
ext2 speed : approximately 7MB/s
ext3 speed : approximately 3MB/s

Known issues(on going).
1. Artefact with Premiere HD channels from satellite or cable.

Caution.
1. we strongly recommend to format your USB memory stick before the new image copy in it, otherwise, it may happen "ER10".

: Bi-directional stream transmission between STB and PC is possible.

: Several STBs can access the Server STB and see the Server's file, mp3, video player and channels.

: M3U is a format that stores multimedia playlists.
Our M3U player can play XVID(Without GMC and Qpel), MPEG1, MPEG2, H.264.

: For the meantime, we didn't display subtitle without PTS or with wrong PTS.

Hi,

I have installed nlb11453 on my cuberevo mini, but the panel says it is for the 9000 ?

I can't get mgcamd working, and the panel frezes on the green button.

The link to the v2.00 files on Rapidshare isn't working for me. It w=keeps coming back with a too many users message ! Is there anywhere else I can download this version from.

important info:
• this image doesn't owerwrite multiboot, but if you have e2 in flash it should be overwritten first
• mgcamd is default emu ... if you start a new one in nlbpanel then mgcamd and new one will be showed as "running" ...
means, both can be used ... but we suggest to reboot your receiver after changing emu to have only new one running

sorry to bother about I think same question posted earlier here.
I?m new with this CubeRevo 3000 HD PVR (http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330419749790&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT) system. I want to change / play a bit with my system.

Actually I?m a little confused with AB-Com / DG Station / CubeRevo.
The model names I only see for i.e. the NLB Image are Model 91 / 900 / 910 / 9000

I really like to thank anybody making comments to my post and give me some kind of advise which Image will fit for my box.
