Why not phone Virgin and get a new one?

should have posted in either pc help or the networking subforum.

Doubt you would have gotten much better response there though due to the vagueness of your post.

Youve basicly just said "my car is broke, how do i fix it." which as you can see is a fairly useless sentance.

a brand and model number would be a good start, following up with cable, DSL or 56kdialup (hey i still use dialup occasionaly)

Then follow up with your ISP, a little bit of network topography eg: my modem directly connects to my comter without any routing.

then a rundown of the symptoms.

purely guessing id say you where on a motorola surfboard sb4100 on virgin. and that the problem woulld be that the isp has released your mac address (although high SNR can also cause this to happen) you'll need to phone up tech support and have them send a ping to your modem, also checking the site to see if any maintainance is happening before hand would save you some time.
