View Full Version : Channels disappearing

I have a Vu+ Duo which is on the OpenPLI image. Lately quite a few channels have disappeared.

This used to happen occasionly before but I used to run Autobouqet E2 plugin when used to fix this.

But now this does not work as after Autobouqet has done its scan, them same channels still dont work. Also what i find strange is previously, I could list all current channels and find a working channel.

For example, there were always several Sky sports 1 channels and one of them always worked.

Now MUTV does not work and there are no other MUTV channels.

Any ideas on a fix?

a rescan of 28.2 should fix ,might have to run autobouqets after rescan

i use Autobouqet and works no problem with all the recent changes and didnt need to rescan, which is the purpose of Autobouqet saving you needing to scan

Just to add, Ive updated the plugin via the software update option on the image and Autobouquet does not work at all.

When i press start, it goes to the black screen and some text comes. But i dont know what it says as it quickly goes back to the autobouquet main screen. I think some of the text says "cant connect to host".

Any idea on a fix?

i presume its setup correctly and you have rechecked settings.

It was installed correctly as it was working fine before. Its only after the online update that its stopped working.

The settings are exactly the same as before.

The reason for the missing channels is the ongoing and very old spat between SES Astra and Eutelsat over a 500MHZ portion of the bandwidth, at the moment this has been awarded to SES Astra but it's up for appeal so dont count out some more major changes in the future to these channels again.

OE-A ABM and Autobouquets are both designed to get around such changes and all of my boxes running ABM are working perfectly.

In the past Autobouquet has worked fine to sort out these problems, its only after this new update i have issues. Also, reading the Autobouquet thread in the dreambox section, a few others seem to have this problem too.

What is OE-A ABM?

abm= auto bouquet maker.
oe unsure but probably like another provider like vix,black hole.

It stands for OE-Alliance and comprises of 11 teams ( currently but all are welcome ) of image builders who decided to pool their collective resources into a central OE core with which they build their images. Includes teams such as ViX, ATV ( both co founders ), SIF, Extrend, Technomate, Egami, etc etc etc.

Thanks for the replies so far.

I think the problem I have got is more than a autobouquet problem.

If i list every channel, there is only one MUTV thats listed which does not work. In the past, there would have been several duplicates and one of them usually work.

check kingofsat for info and see if yours match.

Update: progress made.

I checked on kingofsat on the frequency of channels compared to what were not working on mine. To me surprise they were all different which im assuming means that they have changed recently but my box has not picked them up yet. This is strange as in the past it automatically does scans in the background. I have never done a complete scan.

Anyway, I did a full scan and now all the channels are working.

Also made progress on Autobouquet. I installed an old version which works fine. Also thinking about it, I had the exact same problem on Autobouquet a while ago as I have now. It was fixed by a member on here who uploaded a different autobouquets_e2.sh file which i replaced in usr\lib\enigma2\python\Plugins\Extensions\AutoBouq uets\

Looks like i need something similar again.

I am still getting the problem with channels disapearing. Some channels are still disapearing as there frequency are changing. Again I have to do a full scan to get them back.

I have not changed any settings. I have double checked and DISABLE BACKGROUND SCANNING is set to NO which its always been.

in your auto bouquet maker check what you have set it to,mine had changed from sly ire over to sly uk after an online update.

There is no option to change to sly uk. The only option you have is to set it to your region.

on vix there is an option for setting up abm to your region,as i had mine setup correctly it had changed due to an online update.

i am also getting all my channels suddenly disappear, i updated with a latest catseye bouquet from here an still not working?
