USb dongle

Does anybody know what linux box, if any, will work directly with a usb internet dongle plugged into it as opposed to using an ethernet cable?

A Linux receiver that has the Chipset drivers built into the image itself would work, As for images i know the Blackhole image keeps a current up to date list of wi-fi dongle drivers
