ps3 hdd wiped clean

i thought it be like xbox were u can just slide in a new hdd and the firmware automatically installs and boots up a dashboard (i guess not)

i have wiped my ps3 hdd and now cant it to install firmware

i need firmware update 4.46 install to the hdd

can anyone show me how

sorted now

downloaded 4.5 off the ps3 website and loaded it in on a usb stick

silly how the os isnt on in the console like an xbox
