One for Smirnoff! got a problem on a 1995 astra 1600 8 valve,, the fanbelt tensioner seems like its on the pi@s, the belt has already came off once, fitted a new belt thinking it was stretched but the tensioner must be worn as its on a bit of an angle and out of sync wih the other pulleys, when ran the belt is running off the tensioner instead of sitting in the centre,,, anyone came across this?, are they easy to change?

I have come accross ths a few times, you are very lucky that when the belt came off it did'nt wrap around the crank pulley and enter the timing belt area and bend all your valves!

I've never seen one where you've not lost the timing belt integrity too.All the mkIII's I've had to look at have that have slipped the alt belt tensioner have all wrapped around crank pulley until it's gone BANG!!
